Subject Knowledge

Far Below Expected Level

Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.

Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only basic questions.
Expected Level

Student is at ease with the topic and is able to answer questions; does not elaborate.
Above Expected Level

Student demonstrates full knowledge of the topic; appears comfortable with all questions, along with elaboration.
Eye Contact

Far Below Expected Level

Student reads all of report with no eye contact.
Below Expected Level

Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report.
Expected Level

Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes.
Above Expected Level

Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Voice

Far Below Expected Level

Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for most students to hear.
Below Expected Level

Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces some terms. Some audience members have difficulty hearing presentation. The pace too fast.
Expected Level

Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation. The pace is appropriate for the audience.
Above Expected Level

Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation. The pace is appropriate and pauses are well-timed.
