Poor

Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. Students are not sure what to say or who is speaking or in what order.
Fair

Audience has difficulty following presentation because students jump around. Evidence of a lack of planning.
Good

Students present information in logical sequence which audience can follow. Students are prepared.
Excellent

Students present information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. Students are well rehearsed and prepared. Each students knows his/her part.
Introduction/ Eye Contact

Poor

Poor introduction which shows a lack of knowledge of book. Students read all of report with no eye contact.
Fair

Introduction needed prompting form teacher. Students occasionally use eye contact, but still read most of report.
Good

Students introduce themselves and their book or author. Students maintain eye contact most of the time but frequently return to notes.
Excellent

Students introduce themselves and their book and author. Students maintain eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Content/ Evaluation

Poor

Students show a lack of understanding or misunderstanding of the overall book. Evaluation has minimal or no reasons/examples from the book for support.
Fair

Students show minimal understanding of the book's theme(s). Evaluation is limited and has 1-2 reasons for support.
Good

Students show understanding of the book's theme(s). Evaluation has at least 2 supporting reasons with examples.
Excellent

Students show understanding of the book's theme(s). Evaluation has 3 supporting reasons with specific examples and EWS.
Recommendation/ Timing

Poor

Students lack an understanding of the type of reader who would enjoy this book or have no recommendation. The presentation was less than 1 minute.
Fair

Recommendation is concrete and lacks elaboration. The presentation was at least 1 minute.
Good

Students have successufully recommended this book to a fitting reader. The presentation was at least 2 minutes.
Excellent

Students have successfully recommended this book to a fitting reader. The presentation was at least 3 minutes.
