A brief summary of the book is described from the student's point of view in over 15 sentences. Opinions are acceptable, but do not let them interfere with the true story line.

Students response is less than 5 sentences and does not speak of opinion or recommendation.
Fair
Student responds to book without including recommendation. Less than 10 sentences.
Good
Student responds to the book and includes their opinion. Student also explains if they would recommend the book or not. 10 sentences or more.
Organization and Structure
Poor
Lacking structure in paragraphs and sentences. No transitions in sentences.
Fair
Structure may be present but order and writing are unclear.
Good
Sentences and paragraphs are clear and well structured.
Conventions
Poor
Three or more convention errors.
Fair
One to two convention errors.
Good
There are no errors.
