Section 1

Teacher notes Class participation -Parent/Teacher Communication rents	Unacceptable 1/2 of one Bell Work assignment is completed to the best of the student's ability.	Poor 1 Bell Work assignment is completed to the best of the student's ability.	Poor 1 1/2 Bell Work assignments are completed to the best of student's ability.	Fair 2 Bell Work assignments are completed to the best of student's ability.	Good 2 1/2 Bell Work assignments are completed to the best of student's ability.	Excellent All Bell Work assignments are fully completed to the best of student's ability.

Homework	Unacceptable Homework assignments show little effort, but are submitted for review on time. Both assignments are incomplete. Or Only one assignment has been completed to the best of the student's ability.	Poor Both homework assignments are not completed to the best of students' ability, or are incomplete. Or student does not show understanding of the concept.	Fair One homework assignment has been completed to the best of the students' ability, the other is only half complete. Or, both are complete, but student does not show understanding of the concepts.	Acceptable Homework assignments are mostly complete. Student shows basic but not consistent understanding of the concept.	Good Homework assignments are completed, and student shows understanding of the concept, but has not yet mastered it.	Excellent Homework assignments are completed to the best of the student's ability. Student has mastered the concept, making few to no errors.

In-class Assignments	Unacceptable Student has only submitted one assignment done to the best of his/her ability. This assignment shows the student understands the concepts assessed.	Poor Half of the in-class assignments are completed to the best of student's ability and show understanding of the concept. Or the assignments show the student does not understand the concept.	Fair Student does not show understanding of the concepts in any of the assignments, or 2 of 3 assignments are complete but not to the best of the student's ability.	Acceptable Most of the in-class assignments are completed to the best of the student's ability. The work shows that the student shows basic but not consistent understanding of the concept. Or 2 of 3 assignments are complete.	Good All in-class assignments are completed to the best of student's ability. The work shows that the student understands the concept but has not yet mastered it.	Excellent All in-class assignments are completed to the best of student's ability. The work shows that the student has mastered the concept.

Reflection	Unacceptable Student does not submit a reflection.	Poor Student reflects in one word answers or short phrases. Shows no metacognition and takes no responsibility for the learning process.	Fair Student's reflection shows that he or she is not committed to the reflection process, simply answering the questions without putting any thought into the actual reflection.	Acceptable Student's reflection shows that he or she is trying to be metacognitive but he or she does not completely understand how to think about thinking. Student also does not take responsibility for his or her learning.	Good Student reflects on the learning process and topics for the week. The reflection shows basic metacognition and might take partial responsibility for his or her learning.	Excellent Student completely reflects on the learning process and topics for the week. The reflection shows the student's metacognition (thinking about thinking) and the student takes responsibility for his or her learning.
Section 5

Journal	Unacceptable Student responds to the topic assignment but the response clearly shows that the student does not care about the topic or understanding the topic. No metacognition is shown and the response is not written in academic English.	Poor Student doesn't develop an understanding of the reflective topic assigned. Journal responses are disorganized, shows no attempt at metacognition, but rambles about the topic. Response is not written using academic English.	Fair Student doesn't develop an understanding of the reflective topic assigned. Journal responses are disorganized, but show an attempt at metacognition. Response is not written using academic English.	Acceptable Student shows a developing understanding of the reflective topic assigned. Journal responses show disorganization, and attempt at metacognition but are not written using academic English.	Good Student shows a developed understanding of the reflective topic assigned. Journal responses are disorganized, show basic metacognition and are written to the best of the student's ability.	Excellent Student shows a developed understanding of the reflective topic assigned. Journal responses are well thought out. show metacognition and written to the best of the student's ability.
Section 6

Organizatiion & Participation	Unacceptable Student did not submit a portfolio. Student turned in a stack of papers with no organizational structure. Student does not participate in class activities and has a poor attitude.	Poor Student's papers are thrown into the working portfolio with no organization. Important forms are missing. Student does not participate in class activities and has a poor attitude.	Fair Student's working portfolio is not neat, not all of the papers are in rungs, but the work is in the right section. Student is missing important forms. Student participates in some class activities but has a poor attitude.	Acceptable Student's working portfolio is not neat, not all of the papers are in rungs, but the work is in the right section. Student is missing important forms. Student participates in most of the class activities and has an acceptable attitude.	Good Student's working portfolio is neat, shows pride in students' work, but is missing forms in certain places. Student participates in all class activities and shows a good attitude.	Excellent Student's working portfolio is neat, organized and shows pride in students' work. Student participates in all class activities and shows a good attitude.
