Language Arts Language Arts The students need to identify farm animals and their sounds. The studnets need to match a prewritten text to the correct animal. The students need to point to the text as they read it aloud, word must match text being pointed to. Students need to identify rhyming words in the text. beginning sounds	Poor Student matches less than half of the correct animals on the correct text page. Student matches less than half of the beginning sounds to the correct animal.	Fair Correct animal on the same page as the correct text on at least 6 out 10 animals. Student attempts to match 6 out of 10 beginning sounds correctly.	Good Correct animal on the same page as the correct text throughout the entire book. Student can use beginning sounds to match correct animal to the correct text.
reading text	Poor Student attempts to read text.	Fair Student points to text while reading.	Good Student points to text while reading, saying the correct word as they point.
rhyming words	Poor Students attemp to say two words from the text.	Fair Students can identify most of the rhyming words.	Good Students can identify all of the rhyming words in the text.
