Lincoln Elementary Garden Project 
Students of Lincoln Elementary School will be allowed to work together in preparing, planting and tending a garden in the empty space next to the playground. Grades/classes will work together sharing in the experience and responsibilities of gardening. In grades, students will be given different seeds in order to plant a garden next to the playground. Together, students will plant their seeds. They will participate in preparation, planting, watering, and weeding the garden. They will also need to keep track of the growth of their plants over time and record their measurements on a growth chart. Upon completion of the harvest, each student will submit a one page report explaining their findings.

Masterplan & Timeline reflects critical thinking regarding timing of steps and procedures necessary for preparing and tending a garden.

Student demonstrated knowledge of two of the four steps of planting seeds.

Student demonstrated knowledge of three of the four steps of planting seeds.

Students will document the growth of the plants they planted from seed to maturity and harvest.

Student's measurements were off by several inches.

Student's measurements were off by more than one inch.
