Guided Reading Rubric
	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Needs Improvement 1 pts
Participation	Excellent Actively participates in group discussion. Answers questions and adds meaningful input to discussion.	Good Participates most of the time and adds meaningful input to group discussion.	Fair Participates when called on and adds some detail and information to group discussion.	Needs Improvement Rarely participates in group discussion. Does not answer questions when called upon, and does not add meaningful input to discussion.
Fluency	Excellent Reads text fluently with expression. Reads smoothly with 0-3 mistakes, pauses at periods, and correctly reads punctuation with appropriate voice (i.e. excitement with exclamation point, pauses at periods and commas, etc...).	Good Reads most text fluently. Reads with little difficulty, makes 4-6 mistakes, reads most punctuation correctly.	Fair Reads some text fluently. Reads with some difficulty, makes 7-9 mistakes, rarely reads punctuation correctly.	Needs Improvement Does not read text fluently. Reads with difficulty, makes 10 or more mistakes, does not read punctuation correctly (i.e. skips over punctuation, no voice applied to exclamation or question marks, etc...).
Comprehension	Excellent Answers all questions correctly. Supports answers with two or more supporting details from the story.	Good Answers most questions correctly. Supports answers with one detail from the story.	Fair Answers some questions correctly. Does not support answers with information from the text.	Needs Improvement Does not answer any questions correctly. Does not use information from the text to answer the questions.
Weekly Assignment	Excellent Assignment fully completed and turned in on time. Put forth best effort.	Good Assignment mostly completed and turned in on time. Put forth good effort when working on assignment.	Fair Assignment is half way completed and is one day late. Some effort is shown in work.	Needs Improvement Assignment is not complete and two or more days late. No effort is shown in work.
