Compare/Contrast Essay: Book to movie 
The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book Romeo and Juliet to the movie and audio of the same name. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, specific vocabulary words, read the book and viewed the movie, as well as listened to the audio version. Students will also have had instruction using technology i.e., word processing and power point. This can also be used for older students who lack the appropriate skills to write this type of essay.
