Reading Fluency Rubric
	5 pts	4 pts	3 pts	2 pts
Groupings of Words	5 Reads in large chunks, six or more words at a time.	4 Reads in smaller chunks, four to five words at a time.	3 Reads in small chunks, three or less words at a time.	2 Reads one word at a time.
Automaticity	5 Automaticity well-developed, steady with no hesitations	4 Automaticity good but needs small improvement due to a few hesitations.	3 Automaticity inconsistent, sometimes smooth and steady, sometimes faltering.	2 Automaticity lacking.
Punctuation Pauses	5 Pauses appropriately for all punctuation.	4 Pauses appropriately for most punctuation.	3 Ignores more than 50% of the punctuation.	2 Ignores most or all punctuation.
Pronunciation	5 Pronounces correctly all minor and major words	4 Mispronounces few major words but does fine with minor words.	3 Mispronounces many major words and some minor words.	2 Mispronounces many major and minor words.
