Memorization (final week)	Excellent Script is memorized. Text holds to what is written. No prompting. Actor can stay focussed and knows lines well enough to do an Italian run, a grotesque run, and reverse run with only very marginal flaws and no prompting	Good Script is memorized, with only minor errors. Actor needs to call line occasionally when creative rehearsals take place.	Average The script is mostly memorized, but not word for word. Occasional ad-libs. Only needs occasional prompting. Some paraphrasing. Some unscripted pauses to search for lines.	Fair Needs a fair amount of prompting or ad-libs. Forces other actors to "save them" sometimes or move around in the script - - other actors must listen carefully and "track" them. Pauses often to find themselves.	Poor Scene is not memorized. Frequent ad-libs. Using script or needs excessive prompting. Makes it very difficult for others to play their role or polish their own performances. Stunts growth of fellow actors.
Focus	Excellent Actor listens to and responds to other characters on stage. Concentration complete. Remains in character. Smooth line delivery and transitions. Believable. Average Actor listens to and responds to other characters on stage, but concentration is strained. Character phases in and out.	Fair Actor listens to and responds to others on stage, but concentration is incomplete.	Poor Actor does not listen and respond to others on stage. Performance is not believable.
Voice	Excellent Words clear and well-projected. Varied rate, volume, pitch and pause. Pitch and inflection match character. Voice fits character. Words pronounced correctly.	Good Words clear and well-projected. Varied rate, volume, pitch and pause. Voice fits character. Words pronounced correctly.	Average Words clear. Varied rate and volume. Voice fits character. Words pronounced correctly.	Fair Words are clear at times. Numerous words hard to understand/muffled.	Poor Words muffled and unclear. Monotone. Words pronounced incorrectly.
Characterization	Excellent Successfully identified objectives and portrays them clearly to the audience. Always was trying to perfect role and intent driven and thoughtful understanding. Tactics were explored. Choices were supported after experimentation	Good Conveys most objects to the audience, but may not do so clearly all the time. Mostly was trying to perfect role and understanding. Tactics and choices were explored to some degree.	Average Objective recognition but does not convey them to the audience clearly. Some attempt was made to define role clearly and understand role. Tactics and choices were not thought about regularly.	Fair Only a general idea of objectives. Little attempt made to define role, search for tactics and try different choices. Waited to be told.	Poor Objectives are non existent. Common practice for the actor was to wait and be told what to do, think, and be.
Ensemble Teamwork	Excellent Student's awareness and empathy towards other cast members is very apparent. Student's attainment of teamwork and of the goal to work effectvely together is superlative.	Good Student's awareness and empathy towards other cast members is acceptable. Student's attainment of teamwork and fruition of goal to work effectively together is acceptable.	Average Student's awareness and empathy towards other cast members is weak. Only worked when required.	Fair Student's awareness and empathy towards other cast members is weak. Student seems to have little concept of how to work as a team. Frequently disregards responsibility towards team.	Poor Awareness and empathy towards other cast members is non existent. Student has no concept of how to work as a group member. Actor moves to their own beat on their own time.
Overall Performance	Excellent Excellent ensemble interaction. Excellent use of props, costume and set decoration. Actor emitted with colour and vigor. Actor absorbed with power and intensity.	Good Good ensemble interaction. Good use of props, costume and set decoration. Good emitting and absorbing.	Average Average ensemble interaction. Some use of props, costume and set decoration. Adequate emitting and absorbing.	Fair Fair ensemble interaction. Some use of props, costume and set decoration. Marginal emitting and absorbing.	Poor Limited ensemble interaction. Props, costume, and/or set decoration not used as directed. Poor emitting and absorbing.
Deadlines	Excellent Actor met all deadlines: off book, personal props, costume, make-up, director assignment requests (character or other).	Good Actor met all but one deadlines.	Average Actor met most deadlines.	Fair Actor met some deadlines.	Poor Actor was on their own timetable.
Coachability	Excellent Completely willing to accept director suggestions and advice. Searched for director support. Desired to fulfill director's vision.	Good Mostly willing and mostly capable in attitude and talent.	Average Mostly willing but sometimes not capable to follow through.	Fair Resistant to trying director's ideas.	Poor Stubborn.
