Class Participation Grade Criteria 
Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be evaluated. Your participation grade is 30% of your grade. You will assess your class participation and explain your score. Your first evaluaton is due before your Mid-term exam and your second evaluation is due before your final exam.

Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late. Often, student needs to be prompted to take notes/participate.
Poor

POOR
Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late. Student almost always needs to be prompted to take notes/participate.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR

Excellent

EXCELLENT
Student asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions and does not need to be prompted at all to participate.
Good

GOOD
Student asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions. May have to be prompted to participate.
Fair

Student rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions. May have to be prompted two or three times to participate.
