4 pts
Excellent
Information is nearly perfect. The student has presented in a way that shows they have memorized and practiced their material. They have done the best that they can do.
Good
Information is presented in a smooth way, with little or no mistakes. The student has worked hard to do their best work.
Fair
Information is better, but not where it needs to be. The students have tried, but have certain areas they need to focus on for future speeches.
Poor
Information is bland and boring. It is not done to the students best capabilities. They have not spend very much time getting prepared.
Eye contact
3 pts
Excellent
Students have nearly memorized their speech. They only look down for key words. Makes connections with audience members 80%+ of the time.
Good
Students have used eye contact 75-80% of the time. It appears they have practiced enough to be able to give speech without looking down for long periods of time.
Fair
Students use eye contact occasionally, with most of their speech being read directly from their paper.
Poor
Students have read directly, word for word, from their paper. It appears they have not practiced giving direct eye contact to their peers.
Voice
2 pts
Excellent
Volume is adequate for size of room and audience. Tone varies with points in speech- adds excitement to speech. This has been practiced numerous time.
Good
Voice is loud, but not always directed toward the group. The students have done a good job of keeping voice up at a nice level.
Fair
