Students used 3 of the simple machines required and correctly identified most of them in the project.	Proficient Mostly understood the project, used 4 of the simple machines and correctly identified them in the project.	Excelling Completely understood the problem and used 5 or more of the simple machines and correctly identified them in the project.
Preparedness Did the student produce a neat and detailed blueprint to help explain the machine?	Not Yet Either the blueprint or description of machine was completely missing or incomplete.	Achieving The blueprint was complete but might be difficult to read and/or labeling and description of machine was inaccurate.	Proficient Blueprint is complete and is easy to read. Some inaccuracies may be present.	Excelling Blueprint is neat and detailed. The labeling of each part of the machine was accurate and clear.
