Compare/Contrast Essay Compare/Contrast Essay The purpose of this rubric is to give students the expectations for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast two characters from a novel. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, and read the novel.
