Phrasing	Poor I read word by word, or one word at a time, like a robot.	Fair I am close to reading the words the way the author wrote. I read 3 or 4 word groups.	Good I put the words together the way the author wrote them. I put the words together so that it makes sense.
Rate	Poor I am really slow and have to figure out each word.	Fair I can be slow because I have to read word-by-word when I don't know the words. I take breaks, pause too much, and/or repeat the words when I read.	Good I read like I talk.
Punctuation	Poor I do not pay attention to punctuation. My reading doesn't sound right or make sense.	Fair I sometimes pay attention to punctuation. I make a few mistakes.	Good I always pay attention to the punctuation. My reading sounds right and makes sense.
Expression	Poor My reading sounds boring and really doesn't make sense.	Fair My reading sometimes sounds boring and doesn't make sense.	Good My reading has lots of expression which makes it interesting and exciting.
