Student offers generally effective responses to all components of the assignment. Responses are simple but show moderate insight, depth, or connection to the original assignment. Some support statements relate to the subject.

Simple responses that lack insight, depth, or are superficial. Entries tend to be short and somewhat irrelevant to the key question. Does not express opinion clearly.

Student provides an effective display of good writing and grammar. Assignment reflects student’s ability to select appropriate word usage and present an above average presentation of a given topic or issue. Assignment appears to be well written with no more than 3-5 errors.
Developing Competency

Assignment reflects basic writing and grammar, but more than 5 errors. Student’s writing ability is average, and demonstrates a basic understanding of the subject matter.
Below Competency

Topics, concepts, and ideas are not coherently discussed or expressed in assignments. Student’s writing style is weak and needs improvement. Student needs to review and revise project for final presentation.
