Classroom Expectations
This rubric has been designed to assess student's on task performance during classroom instruction. Students may gain points. 20 points will replace 1 quiz grade or may be used as extra credit within a 6 week period. This rubric is completed weekly.

Basic
Student completed the assignments, but needed frequent redirection from the teacher.
Mastery
Student completed the assignments, but needed one redirection from the teacher.

Student completed the assignments and was not a distraction to other students working around him/her.
Participation
No Attempt at Mastery
Student did not participate in the activity at all.
Basic
Student was slow to participate in the activity. Only participated 50% of class time.
Mastery
Student participated in the activity for 75% of class time.
Advanced
Student was constantly active and participated in the activity for 90% or more of class time.
Cooperation
No Attempt at Mastery
Student did not follow directions and rules. Student argued with classmates or teacher concerning the task. Did not assist other students.
Basic
Student followed directions and rules 50% of class time. Occasionally argued with others concerning the task. Student was not able to assist other students, although the attempt was made.
Mastery
Student followed directions and rules for the majority of class. He/she did not argue with others concerning the task, and when asked, assisted other students.
Advanced
Student followed directions and rules for the entire class time. Student shared his/her creative ideas and encouraged other students.
Noise level
No Attempt at Mastery
Many warnings were given to student concerning noise level, but student did not correct.
Basic
When warnings were given regarding noise level being too loud, student responded positively.
Student was given two warnings.
Mastery
Student's noise level was acceptable for the most part. Only one warning was given concerning noise.
Advanced
Student's noise level was not an issue. No warnings were given.
Student also reminded others to maintain acceptable volume.
Follow Directions
No Attempt at Mastery
Student was unable to follow directions due to being off task or unwillingness to work. Even when redirected, student did not follow the directions.
Basic
Student followed the directions, but only minimally. Student did not consistently follow the directions .
Mastery
Student completely followed all directions. When confused, student asked teacher for help in understanding the task.
Advanced
Student followed all directions using a creative and thoughtful approach. When confused, student re-read the directions in order to understand the task.
