Greenhorn

Attempts to coordinate group efforts to achieve a clearly defined goal but finds it hard to obtain the cooperation of others and to motivate others.
Rookie

Able to coordinate group efforts to achieve goals given clear guidelines. Able to get majority to contribute toward achieving goals.
Skilled Leader

Able to organise a large group to achieve a set of objectives which may not be well defined at the start. Able to get everyone to work together.
Independence and Decisiveness

Greenhorn

Attempts to work independently without regular guidance. However unable to demonstrate conviction in making decisions and in voicing personal views.
Rookie

Able to work independently with occasional guidance. Will try to be decisive but may be uncomfortable with the responsibility.
Skilled Leader

Able to work independently. Is resourceful. Makes responsible and good decisions. Freely volunteers own views and ideas for discussion.
Initiative and Creativity

Greenhorn

Attempt to be enthusiastic in performance of responsibilities. However, requires constant prompting. Lack ideas and does not build upon others’ ideas as well.
Rookie

May not have many original ideas although may be able to build on or modify others’ ideas. Acts when the need to make changes is strong.
Skilled Leader

Takes the effort to find out tasks that need to be done. Readily carries out relevant, valued added tasks without prompting. Highly motivated. Innovative and offers novel solutions.
Perseverance

Greenhorn

Tries but is not resilient. Easily discouraged by obstacles and difficulties. Does not follow tasks to completion.
Rookie

Will try to see task to completion but not to perfection. May seek solutions which may not lead to the best outcomes.
Skilled Leader

Sees each task to completion. Is determined to overcome obstacles and difficulties. Has positive mindset that challenges can be overcome.
Emotional Maturity

Greenhorn

Learning to cope with pressure and demands. However tends to be irritable when things do not go well.
Rookie

Able to cope with most demands. Generally calm in most situations.
Skilled Leader

Remains steady and composed under pressure. Others look to him/her for strength and direction in difficult situations.
Communication Skills

Greenhorn

Can convey thoughts and information. However, may tend to offend others or be misunderstood. Does not appear approachable.
Rookie

Able to convey thoughts adequately in written or spoken forms. Will try to listen to others although may be distracted at times.
Skilled Leader

Conveys ideas effectively in both written and spoken forms. Able to read and respond to body language. Listens attentively to others. Approachable.
Conflict and Team Management

Greenhorn

Prefers solitary tasks and is awkward in teams. Nevertheless tries to work with others. Unable to act as mediator.
Rookie

Able to get others to work together. Will try to forge a team identity. Generally able to mediate in most conflict situations.
Skilled Leader

Able to get others to work well together, establishing a sense of camaraderie. Effective mediator.
Moral Uprightness

Greenhorn

Makes decisions without giving too much thought to possible consequences and how these could affect others.
Rookie

Makes appropriate decisions taking into account the moral complexities of certain issues.
Skilled Leader

Makes sound decisions and judgements without compromising own values and principles. People who he/she interact with appreciate and respect his/her decisions and judgements.
