Classroom Particitpation and Behavior
This rubric will be used to evaluate how a student works and participates during class time.

Productivity/On-task
Advanced
Student was ON-TASK and worked PRODUCTIVELY.
Completed their task at hand and made progress on their assignments. Student was not a distraction to other students working around him/her.
Mastery
Student was MOSTLY on-task and worked productively. Almost completed their task, made slight progress on their assignments. Student needed one redirection from the teacher
Basic
Student was MOSTLY off-task and
UNPRODUCTIVE. Did not complete task, made only a small amount of progress on their assignment and needed frequent redirection for the teacher.
No Attempt at Mastery
Student was NOT on-task nor productive. Did not complete task and made no progress on the assignment even with prompting from the teacher.
Level of Engagement & Cooperation
Advanced
Student proactively contributed to class by OFFERING ideas and ASKING questions MORE than TWICE during class.
Student shared his/her creative ideas and encouraged other students.
Follows and encourages other students leadership as well as directs others in learning.
Mastery
Student proactively contributed to class by offering ideas and asking questions ONE to TWO times during class.
He/she did not argue with others concerning the task, and when asked, assisted other students.
Follows other students leadership as well as directs others in learning.
Basic
Student contributed to class by offering ideas and asking questions ONCE during class.
Occasionally argued with others concerning the task. Student was not able to assist other student, although the attempt was made.
Is reluctant to follow other students leadership and lead other in learning.
No Attempt at Mastery
Student DID NOT contribute to class by offering ideas and asking questions..
Student argued with classmates or teacher concerning the task.
Does not follow other students leadership and does not lead other students in learning.

Student SHOWED responsibility and respect and did NOT display disruptive behavior during class.
Mastery
Student MOSTLY showed responsibility and respect and RARELY displayed disruptive behavior during class.
Basic
Student OCCASIONALLY showed responsibility and respect and OCCASIONALLY displayed disruptive behavior during class.

Student DID NOT show responsibility and respect during class.
Noise level
Advanced
Student's noise level was not an issue. No warnings were given.

Student's noise level was acceptable for the most part. Only one warning was given concerning noise.

Follow Directions
Advanced
Student followed all directions using a creative and thoughtful approach. When confused, student re-read the directions in order to understand the task.
Mastery
Student completely followed all directions. When confused, student asked teacher for help in understanding the task.
Basic
Student followed the directions, but only minimally. Student did not consistently read the directions in order to understand the task.
No Attempt at Mastery
Student was unable to follow directions due to being off task or unwillingness to work. Even when redirected, student did not read the directions.

Demonstrates respect for equipment with no corrections in a class period.

Demonstrates respect for fellow students and their work with no corrections in a class period. Student LISTENED when other talked. Student incorporated or built off of the ideas of others.
