Character Development

Skill: Is the student creative in his/her development and delivery of their character utilizing the Stanislavski method of acting.

Movement

Skill: Is the body utilized to the student's utmost ability to aid in development of character's intent and delivery of lines?

Student inconsistently employs appropriate use of physicality, but overall, moves without purpose. Execution of blocking is inconsistent. Student demonstrates little understanding of stage space.

Student employs appropriate use of physicality to enhance character with body movement and facial expression.<BR>

Focus

Skill: Does the student retain focus (stay in character) throughout the entire rehearsal?

Student never truly immerses enough into their character to produce any kind of believability.<BR>

Student weaves in and out of character slightly throughout performance.<BR>

Student stays completely immersed in their character throughout the entire rehearsal.<BR>

Ensemble Contribution

Collaboration:Student's ability to work with others in rehearsal including stage crew and performers.

Student inconsistently employs appropriate use of the voice. Basic skills of vocal requirements for a character need improvement-articulation, volume, rate, pitch and inflections. Dialect work not evident.

Student employs appropriate use of the voice. Basic skills of vocal requirements for a character is inconsistant-articulation, volume, rate, pitch and inflections. Dialect work is attempted but needs work.
Surpasses Expectations

Student demonstrates good use of the voice. Basic skills of vocal requirements for a character is consistant-articulation, volume, rate, pitch and inflections. Dialect work is evident.
Rehearsal Etiquette

Skill: Is the student actively engaged in the rehearsal process?

Falls Short of Expectations

Student talks with or distracts other students during rehearsals and is on cell phone (texting /social media) during rehearsals.
Student does not bring script, pencil or wear appropriate clothing or shoes for rehearsal. Has been late or misses rehearsals. Does not listen to directions from director or stage manager. Leaves trash in theater or backstage

Student is occasionally off task and has been on cell phone during rehearsal.
Student occasionally talks with or distracts other students during rehearsals.
Student does not always bring script, pencil or wear appropriate clothing or shoes for rehearsal. Has been late or misses rehearsals. Does not always listen to directions from director or stage manager. Occasionally leaves trash in the theater and backstage

Student does not talk with or distracts other students during rehearsals.
Student always brings script and pencil (writes down blocking) and wears appropriate clothing and shoes for rehearsal.Student turns off cell phone and puts it away. Knows the rehearsal schedule and is on time and ready to rehearse. Listens to directions from director or stage manager. Cleans up after rehearsal in theater and backstage.
