	Poor/Almost Fair(0-2) This paragraph needs a lot of work and needs to be entirely edesigned/reorganized and rewritten. 0 pts	Fair/Good (3) This is a paragraph that works for the most part, but still seems like a rough draft. 0 pts	Good/Excellent (4-5) This paragraph succeeds It has been edited, stylized, and completed with an full awareness of the assignment, structure, formatting and audience. 0 pts
Content & Development 5 pts	Poor/Almost Fair(0-2) - Content is incomplete. - Unclear if writer understands purpose (assignment).	Fair/Good (3) - Content is not comprehensive. - Topic sentence is present but not supported. - Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose (assignment).	Good/Excellent (4-5) - Content is comprehensive, accurate, and addresses the assignment. - Content and purpose of the writing are clear.
Organization & Structure 5 pts	Poor/Almost Fair(0-2) - Organization and lack of structure detract from the message of the writer. - Topic sentence is missing or unclear. - Supporting sentences too lengthy/wordy, or repetitive.	Fair/Good (3) - Structure of the paragraph is not easy to follow. - Paragraph transitions need improvement. -Sentences need more attention to purpose.	Good/Excellent (4-5) - Structure of the paragraph is clear and easy to follow. - Paragraph is built of good supporting sentences that speak to a clear topic sentence in each paragraph.
Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling 5 pts	Poor/Almost Fair(0-2) - Paragraph contains numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. - Language uses jargon or conversational tone.	Fair/Good (3) - Paragraph contains few grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. - Language lacks clarity or includes the use of some jargon or conversational tone.	Good/Excellent (4-5) - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct. - Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure.
Format 5 pts	Poor/Almost Fair(0-2) - Paper lacks many elements of correct formatting. requirements. - Paragraph is inadequate in length. - Writer has not read or does not know format instructions from assignment sheet.	Fair/Good (3) - Paper follows most assignment guidelines.	Good/Excellent (4-5) - Paper follows all designated guidelines.
