	Poor 2 pts	Fair 3 pts	Good 4 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Topic	Poor Relates slightly to the topic, has little supporting detail and may contain too much irrelevant information.	Fair Demonstrates an awareness of the topic with some supporting detail, but contains irrelevant information.	Good Relates to the topic with adequate supporting details with few irrelevant information.	Excellent Focuses on the topic with ample supporting details and no irrelevant information.
Progress Reports	Poor Progress reports are not included	Fair Not all progress reports are included.	Good Progress reports are included but not complete.	Excellent Progress reports are all included and completed.
Grammar and Spelling	Poor Contains serious grammatical errors that impede meaning. Contains many errors in spelling, punctuation, and capitalization that impede meaning.	Fair Contains grammatical errors that interfere with meaning. Contains frequent errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation that interfere with meaning.	Good Contains grammatical structure that are mostly correct. Uses correct spelling, few errors in punctuation and capitalization.	Excellent Uses language effectively by varying vocabulary and sentence patterns. Uses correct spelling, no errors in punctuation and capitalization.
Works Cited	Poor 3 sources are not cited.	Fair 3 sources were acknowledged but not cited.	Good Citation was attempted for 3 sources but has mistakes.	Excellent 3 sources are sited correctly.
