Sentence	Emerging The word is not used correctly. OR The sentence is not complete. OR The target word is not used in the sentence.	Partially Proficient Word used in a sentence correctly, but does not include a context clue. OR Sentence contains a context clue, but word used incorrectly.	Proficient Word is used correctly in a sentence demonstrating a self connection. Context clues are provided to clarify meaning. The target word is underlined.
Affixes Use frequently occurring affixes as a clue to the meaning of a word.	Emerging Uses frequently occurring affixes as a clue to the meaning of a word at least 25% of the time.	Partially Proficient Uses frequently occurring affixes as a clue to the meaning of a word at least 50% of the time.	Proficient Uses frequently occurring affixes as a clue to the meaning of a word at least 80% of the time.
