Depth of knowledge of concepts	Level 5 Student teacher has an in-depth knowledge of concepts taught.	Level 4 Student teacher has knowledge of concepts taught but it does not go beyond that addressed in the textbook and/or lower level knowledge.	Level 3 Student teacher has knowledge of concepts taught but makes some factual errors.	Level 2 Student teacher has some knowledge of concepts taught but has many misconceptions and factual errors.	Level 1 Student teacher has little knowledge of concepts/content taught.
Instructional Delivery	Level 5 Student teacher engages the class in higher order thinking and/or enhanced performance skills.	Level 4 Student teacher effectively engages the class in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs.	Level 3 Student teacher inconsistently uses instructional strategies in the class that meets individual learning needs.	Level 2 Student teacher inadequately addresses the students' learning needs	Level 1 Student teacher does not address student learning.
Class Management	Level 5 Student teacher manages the class very well and minimizes disruptions.	Level 4 Student teacher manages the class well but needs some assistance in managing disruptions.	Level 3 Student teacher manages the class but relies on others to manage disruptions.	Level 2 Student teacher shows difficulty in managing the class and acts an an assistant in managing disruptions.	Level 1 Student teacher cannot manage the class.
Student Learning	Level 5 Student teacher's work results in a high level of student learning supported by the evidence.	Level 4 Student teacher's work results in acceptable, measurable and appropriate student progress.	Level 3 Student teacher's work results in progress that does not meet the standard and/or is not achieved by all students taught by the teacher.	Level 2 Student teacher's work does not achieve acceptable student progress.	Level 1 Student teacher's work is unable to help students learn. Class is confused as a result.
