Student exhibits a defined and clear understanding of the assignment. Orderly and concise. Easy to follow the distillation of weekly notes. Addition to mid-term myths and excellent reporting on additional myths. Demonstrates an in depth understanding of the original thoughts and reporting of the expansion or change in those understandings. Contains thorough supporting statements relevant to the subject.
Meets Competency

Student offers effective understanding of the assignment.Most of the thoughts are easily followed by the reader. Addition to mid-term is above average. New information demonstrates above average willingness to research and expand original thoughts. Reports an understanding of why there is a change (or not) of the original thought. Contains supporting statements relevant to the subject.
Developing Competency

Student exhibits basic understanding of the assignment. Thoughts are sometimes logical and other times confusing to the reader. generally effective responses to all components of the assignment. Additional clarification of the mid-term is good. New information demonstrates basic understanding of the assignment. Responses are simple but show moderate insight, depth, or connection to the original assignment. Some support statements relate to the subject.
Below Competency

Simple responses that lack insight, depth, or are superficial. Entries tend to be short and somewhat irrelevant to the key question. Has not or minimal has expanded midterm project work. Does not express opinion clearly and often statements do not relate to assignment.

Exceeds Competency

Student thoroughly understands and excels in explaining all major points. Offers documentation from class/group/speaker interactions , movies and other research are duly noted. An original, unique, and/or imaginative concepts clearly stated. Overall format of assignment includes well- developed content.
Meets Competency

Student thoroughly understands and is above average in explaining all major points. An original, unique, and/or imaginative approach to overall ideas and concepts are almost always clearly stated. . Overall format of assignment includes developed content carried over from midterm and with added myths for final. Includes class documentation from groups/speaker/movies and research.
Most project guidelines are followed.
Developing Competency

Student doesn't clearly demonstrate myths and how he/she changed or solidified those beliefs. Paper lacks a smooth flow of the ideas and concepts from the midterm to the final project. Additional myths are not well developed. appear to understand the major points. Student uses some framework that evidences some a basic understanding of ideas and concepts throughout the writing. Students includes one or two notations from the interaction and research. Some project guidelines are followed.
Below Competency

Assignment reveals lack of organization and doesn't seem to understand the flow from the midterm to the final project. Student does not include any documentation from class/group/speaker/movies or other research. Student does not follow the guidelines of:

Double spaced

Spell checked.
One class-site or research bibliography per page.

Evaluates and illustrates as appropriate personal and group member strengths and assigns percentage points as related to the group meetings and assignment. Student offers some concrete examples.
Developing Competency

Evaluates self and group with general illustrations leaving out particulars. Student offers broad or non specific examples.
Below Competency

Unable or does not evaluate self or group members. Student does not offer any examples of group meeting.
Grammar and Mechanics

Exceeds Competency

Student demonstrates an excellent command of grammar, has three or less spelling errors, and presents the project in a structure/format that enhances readability.
Meets Competency

Student provides an effective display of good writing and grammar. Assignment reflects student’s ability to select appropriate word usage and present an above average presentation of a given topic or issue. Assignment appears to be well written with no more than 3-5 errors.
Developing Competency

Assignment reflects basic writing and grammar, but more than 5 errors. Student’s writing ability is average, and demonstrates a basic understanding of the subject matter.
Below Competency

Topics, concepts, and ideas are not coherently discussed or expressed in assignments. Student’s writing style is weak and needs improvement. Student needs to review and revise project for final presentation.
