Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) with explanations and elaboration that enhance the slide show presentation.
Eye Contact

Fail

Reading; no eye contact.
Poor

Student reads most of report with little eye contact.
Fair

Student occasionally uses eye contact, but usually relies on notes; mixture of speaking and reading.
Good

Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes; speaks, doesn't read.
Excellent

Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Elocution
20 %

Fail

Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear. Has to be told repeatedly to speak up. Student mostly ignores the audience.
Poor

Student incorrectly pronounces terms with rhythm problems, and speaks too quietly. Pronunciation and rhythm problems cause difficulty in understanding.
Fair

Student's voice is low and/or speaks too quickly. Student incorrectly pronounces more than a couple of terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.
Good

Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.
Excellent

Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
Length

Fail

Under two minutes long.
Poor

Under three minutes long.
Fair

3-5 minutes long, with some time wasted - too many unnecessary pauses.
Good

3-5 minutes long, with little time wasted, and time generally used well for presentation - few unnecessary pauses.
Excellent

3-5 minutes long, with no time wasted, and extremely used well for presentation - very few unnecessary pauses.
