Individual research paper oral presentation
Each student will choose a scientific article from a recommended journal and present a detailed summary. The student will correlate research findings and discussion with objectives of and material covered in the course.

Student has a stronghold on the content, methodology and conclusions of the article and is able to effectively "teach" the class. No mistakes are made with regard to content knowledge.
Good
Student has a basic understanding of the content. Articles findings are effectively communicated but show shortcomings in mastery of the material or in explanation of findings.
Fair
Student has only a superficial or limited understanding of content. Mistakes were made during the presentation. The main findings of the article, methodology or conclusions of the paper are explained incorrectly or not explained clearly.
Poor
Student has little to no understanding of the content addressed in the presentation and does not communicate the findings or methodology of the article clearly.
Conclusion

Superior
Conclusion reviews information presented, restates the findings and ends with a clear summary of the "take home points" of the article.
Good
Conclusion fails to do ONE of the following: review of information, restatement of findings or summarizing of take home points.
Fair
Conclusion fails to do TWO of the previous criteria.
Poor
Presentation ends without an official conclusion.

Small mistakes may be present but do not interfere with the effective functioning of the aids.
