Student readily digs deeper than surface appearance(using emotional memory and imagination) in peformance of roles cast against type/roles against type observed; is capable of sympathetic and truthful portrayal or witnessing of people that are out of range of their own experience (catharsis).
Meets Expectations

Student has some difficulty identifying with "against type" roles as performed/witnessed; needs further instruction/exploration of choices to reach truthful portrayal/understanding of the characters struggles and desires
Falls Short of Expectations

Student is resistant to understanding ; attempts performance/observation but never progresses beyond initial level of choices to reach truth or identification. Soon requests something more '"exciting".
Far Below Expectations

Student is resistant to portrayal of character out of thier experience; Is "bored" or "tired" with role immediately.
