Summary, Main characters, and Recommendation)	Needs Improvement The report does not cover all of the necessary material.
Organization of Report The report is written according to guidelines. Each page has the right section on it.	Outstanding The report follows the book report guidelines perfectly.	Average The report follows somewhat of the guidelines. A few sections are out of order or missing a section.	Needs Improvement The report does not meet most of the book report guidelines. It is missing more than one section.
Conventions of Report Book report should be gramatically correct!	Outstanding The report is written very neatly. It has very few minor errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling, or no errors at all.	Average The report is written neatly and has few minor errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling.	Needs Improvement The report is not written neatly and has many errors in grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling.
Colorful/Creative The book report should be colorful, neat, and effort should be seen.	Outstanding Very creative, colorful, and effort is very visible.	Average Creative, colorful, and effort is seen somewhat.	Needs Improvement Lacks color and creativity. Effort was not visible.
Rough Drafts You will have three parts that will be edited before the book report is due. These will be turned in with your final reports for points.	Outstanding Three rough drafts: Summary, Main Characters, and Recommendation are included and edited by a peer.	Average Two out of the three rough drafts are included and edited by peer.
