Letter Home to Romania 
East Meets West
Objective: Write a friendly letter as Marcus to his mother in Romania, describing the many differences between Marcus's home in Romania and New York City. Remember that mother is in Romania and everything foreign must be carefully described so that she can get a clear picture of what you are telling her. (For example mother won't know what the Statue of Liberty is or what a banana is. Therefore, your descriptions needs to be full of detail.) This letter is going into your writing portfolio. Be sure to do your BEST WORK.
