Facial Expressions

Level 4

Different facial expressions were used, and they accurately portrayed the mood or emotion intended. Very expressive face.

Student used facial expressions and attempted to match the mood or emotion. They were expressive most of the time.

Storytelling

The story was easy to follow and was an interesting connection to the picture that was chosen. There were all elements of a story present: beginning, rising action, conflict, and resolution.
Level 3

The story was somewhat easy to follow and showed a connection to the picture that was chosen. Story elements were shown, but not all may be have been present or clear
Level 2

The story was a bit confusing to follow. It did not connect to the picture in a genuine or creative way, was a bit of a stretch. Not all story elements are present.
Level 1

The story could not be followed. The story did not connect to the picture, or there was no picture attached. There was no attempt to follow story elements.
Music

Level 4

The music was well chosen and prepared and edited for the presentation. It enhanced the storytelling and set the mood for the audience.
Level 3

The music was a good choice for the presentation. It helped to move the story along, but it may have missed the mark on mood slightly.
Level 2

The music choice seemed to be a last minute addition. Not a lot of thought or planning was made to choose a piece of music to capture the mood of the story.
Level 1

No music present, or entirely missed the mark.
Overall

Level 4

Costuming and props were used with appropriate intention for the story. There were clear choices made to assist the story and the connection to the picture and music.
Level 3

Costuming and props were used well. The choices made helped the story for the most part.
Level 2

Costuming and/or props were used, but maybe not both. Costume choices were not thought through and did not overly help the story. Props were extraneous and not necessary for story development.
Level 1

No thought to costumes were made. No props were used.
