Writing Rubric Writing Conventions
	ALWAYS 4 pts	USUALLY 3 pts	SOMETIMES 2 pts	NOT YET 1 pts
Directionality Did I write my sentences from left to right?	ALWAYS I always write my sentences from left to right!	USUALLY I usually write my sentences from left to write, but I forget once or twice and don't continue all the way to the right.	SOMETIMES I sometimes write my sentences from left to right, but I forget a lot and sometimes start in the middle.	NOT YET I do not know how to write my sentences from left to right yet. I begin writing any where on the page.
Capitalization Did I begin my sentences with a capital letter?	ALWAYS I always begin my sentences with a capital letter!	USUALLY I usually begin my sentences with a capital, but I forget once or twice and use lower case letters instead.	SOMETIMES I only sometimes begin my sentences with a capital letter. I forget many times and use lower case letters instead.	NOT YET I do not know how to begin my sentences with a capital letter yet . I forget all the time and use lower case letters instead.
Spacing Did I leave spaces between my words?	ALWAYS I always leave spaces between my words!	USUALLY I usually leave spaces between my words, but I forget once or twice and some words are hard to read.	SOMETIMES I sometimes leave spaces between my words and my most of my words are hard to read.	NOT YET I do not know how to leave spaces in between my words yet. My sentence is looks like one giant word.
Punctuation Did I end my sentences with a period, exclamation point or question mark?	ALWAYS I always end my sentence with a period, exclamation point or question mark!	USUALLY I usually end my sentence with a period, exclamation point or question mark, but I forget once or twice.	SOMETIMES I sometimes end my sentence with a period, exclamation point or question mark, but I forget most of the time.	NOT YET I do not know how to end my sentence with a period, exclamation point or question mark yet. I can't tell where one sentence begins or ends.
