Finger Play	Poor Did not use any actions when reading the poem. Did not encourage the child to act out the poem/song.	Fair Used some actions when reading the poem/song. Slightly encouraged the child to act out the poem/song.	Good Enthusiastically used actions when reading the poem. Helped the child act out the poem/song. Stood up to emphasize activity.
Speaking Voice	Poor Mumbled. Did not speak clearly when reading the poem/song. Spoke so low that the child could not understand.	Fair Most words could be understood, but spoke either too slowly or too quickly at times. Child understood most of the song.	Good Spoke clearly and loudly so child could understand the words to the song/poem.
Interacting with child	Poor Did not ask questions or talk with child. Did not ask about the meaning of words, predictions or engage child in conversation.	Fair Asked a few questions and spoke with the child. Asked the meaning of one or two words and spoke minimally to the child.	Good Spoke to the child about the story, asked questions and asked child to repeat words for understanding. Asked child to point to pictures and play along with action.
