Content & Development	Good - Content is comprehensive, accurate, and persuasive. - Major points are stated clearly and are well supported. - Content and purpose of the writing are clear.	Fair - Content is not comprehensive and /or persuasive. - Major points are addressed, but not well supported. - Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose and clarity of thought.	Poor - Content is incomplete. - Major points are not clear and /or persuasive.
Organization & Structure	Good - Structure of the sentences are clear and easy to follow.	Fair - Structure of the sentences are not easy to follow. - Sentences need improvement.	Poor - Organization and structure detract from the message of the writer. - Sentences are disjointed and lack clarity of thoughts.
Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling	Good - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct. - Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure.	Fair - Sentences contain few grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. - Language lacks clarity or includes the use of some jargon or conversational tone.	Poor - Sentences contain numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. - Language uses jargon or conversational tone.
Group Participation	Good -Every student in the group contributes to assignment. All members stay on task and conversation focused on assignment.	Fair -Majority of group contributes to assignment. Most of the time and conversation is focused on assignment with only a couple of reminders.	Poor -Little or no contribution by group members to assignment. Majority of the group off-task and needing several reminders to stay on task.
