Appetizer Platter FOOD PRODUCTS RUBRIC The learners are expected to make an appetizer platter including 2-3 varieties of appetizer with dip or drizzle, relish presented in a beautiful way and served to their family members. The product tasting will be graded by family members for rating. This rubric is the basis for this appetizer platter. Co-operation/employability skills	Excellent Learner demonstrated a willingness to complete all tasks. Participated very well though the whole process of preparation.	Meritorious/very good Learner demonstrated some willingness to complete all tasks. Participated well though the whole process of preparation.	Satisfactory Learner demonstrated some willingness to complete all tasks. Participated fairly well though the whole process of preparation.	Elementary Learner participated but tended to play. Refuse non-preferred tasks, or quit before all tasks were complete.	Poor Learner did not participate in all tasks and did not demonstrate a willingness to work.
Safety	Excellent Learner followed safety rules and food handling procedures excellently.	Meritorious/very good Learner followed safety rules and food handling procedures well. Plate Presentation	Excellent The presentation was very creative. It contained excellent colour and plate well organised. There is at least 2-3 varieties of appetizer, a dip, and a relish in the plating.	Meritorious/very good The presentation was creative. It contained very good colour and plate was organised. There is a variety of appetizer, a relish but may be improved to a more appetizing platter.	Satisfactory The presentation was good. It contained colour and plate was fairly organised. There is an appetizer but no dip or relish.	Elementary The presentation was fair. It contained some colour and plate was organised with some creativity. No relish or Dip was presented in the platter. Not very palatable.	Poor The presentation lacked color and plate was unorganized. It contained no eye-appeal.
Final Product	Excellent Correct preparation of food products resulted in excellent flavour profiles as per family tasting, texture and consistency.	Meritorious/very good Correct preparation of food products resulted in very good flavour profiles, texture and consistency.	Satisfactory Correct preparation of food products resulted in good flavour profiles, texture and consistency.	Elementary Final food product was edible; but lacked in flavour, texture and consistency.	Poor Final food product was under cooked, and inedible. Flavour and texture not visible.
