Content & Development	Poor - The content is incomplete. - The major points are not clear or explained at all. The paragraphs are very short. - The purpose of the paper is not clear and inconsistent. - The introduction and/or conclusion are weak and/or one is missing.	Good - The content is not comprehensive. - The major points are addressed, but not well explained. The paragraphs are a bit short. - The purpose the paper is somewhat clear and consistent. - There is an introduction and conclusion.	Excellent - The content is complete. - The major points are stated clearly and are explained well. - The purpose of the paper is clear and consistent. - The introduction and conclusion are strong.
Organization & Formatting	Poor - The paper is unorganized, messy, and/or difficult to follow.	Good - The paper is somewhat organized, neat, and easy to follow. -All but one of the formatting requirements were followed.	Excellent - The paper is organized, neat, and easy to follow. - Paragraphs are indented properly. - If typed it is 12pt font, in black, double-spaced. - If handwritten it is in cursive, dark blue or black ink, and double-spaced.
Punctuation & Spelling	Poor - There are frequent errors in spelling and/or punctuation.	Good - There are a few errors in spelling and/or punctuation.	Excellent -There are very few or no spelling and/or punctuation errors.
Vocabulary	Poor - The paper includes repetitive vocabulary and would greatly benefit from more descriptive language.	Good - The paper includes some sophisticated and thoughtful vocabulary and a few descriptions.	Excellent - The use of language is clear and precise, especially because my sentences use a variety of sophisticated and thoughtful vocabulary and descriptions.
