Quality of Discussion 3 pts How do your comments further discussion and respond to the topic or connect with a point made by your classmate?	Unacceptable The student does not adequately address the topic of discussion. The student demonstrates a lack of engagement in the discussion.	Acceptable Student is inconsistent when addressing the topics and is often disengaged from classmates.	Good Student is usually thorough in addressing the topics in a way that respects classmates and furthers or deepens the discussion.	Exemplary Student consistently and thoroughly addresses the topics in a way that respects classmates and furthers or deepens the discussion.
Participation 3 pts Did you meet the requirement of three practice sessions?	Unacceptable The student does not meet the requirement of at least three practice sessions.	Acceptable Student has met the requirement of three practice sessions but with minimum effort & substance.	Good Student has met the requirement of three practice sessions but with inconsistent effort.	Exemplary Student has met the requirement of practice sessions with consistently substantial effort.
Preparation 3 pts Were you prepared to discuss or to practice the topic?	Unacceptable The student is not prepared to discuss or participate in class.	Acceptable Student demonstrates inconsistent preparation for discussions and/or practices.	Good Student demonstrates consistent preparation.	Exemplary Student is prepared well, so that discussions are substantial and practices are completely developed.
