Whole Body Listening

When given scenarios or examples of other students in a variety of activities, student will be able to point out the use of whole body listening and demonstrate an understanding of listening with brain, eyes, ears and whole body.

Rarely Demonstrates

Needs constant adult prompts and reminders or doesn't demonstrate skill.
Fair

Inconsistent responses and reactions. Adults intermittently intervene with multiple visuals and cues (4 to 5).
Good

Somewhat consistently demonstrates, may need few or some (2 or less) visual support and/or minimal cues.
Achieved

Demonstrates an understanding of whole body listening commensurate with peer expectations.
Whole Body Listening

Student will listen with his brain, eyes, ears and whole body to adults/peers and react or respond accordingly and as expected, such as by refraining from blurting out "off topic" statements or interrupting conversations with own comments/thoughts/interests.

Good

Able to state what it means to be a flexible thinker and make choices and then follow through WITH prompting
Achieved

Able to state what it means to be a flexible thinker and be willing to make choices from those presented by the teacher and follow through, WITHOUT prompts.
Expected /Unexpected Behavior

The student will demonstrate an understanding of expected and unexpected behaviors and how these behaviors relate to completing tasks in the classroom, managing & self regulating impulsive behaviors, and understanding how his actions make other people feel.

Is not able to state what it means to be demonstrate expected/unexpected behavior.
Fair

Able to define what expected and unexpected behavior's are.
Good

Able to describe hidden rules and self-reflect for own situation by listing what is expected and unexpected behavior for a situation with 50% accuracy.
Achieved

Able to describe hidden rules and self-reflect for own situation by listing what is expected and unexpected behavior for a situation with 80% accuracy.
