Fair

Candidate possesses minimal qualities to lead teachers at a middle school. Candidate vaguely articulates how their background can enhance the existing school structure.
Poor

Candidate possesses no qualities to lead teachers at a middle school. Candidate does not articulate how their background can enhance the existing school structure.
Leadership Style

As measured by candidate's knowledge base of various leadership styles and ability to articulate their own style of leadership.

Excellent

Candidate possesses a thorough understanding of leadership styles and theory. Candidate holds a clear vision of their personal style of leadership and demonstrates how their style can contribute to the school.
Good

Candidate possesses a working understanding of leadership styles and theory. Candidate holds a semi-clear vision of their personal style of leadership and demonstrates how their style can contribute to the school.
Fair

Candidate possesses a general understanding of leadership styles and theory. Candidate holds a basic vision of their personal style of leadership and demonstrates how their style can contribute to the school.
Poor

Candidate possesses an incomplete or poorly developed understanding of leadership styles and theory. Candidate holds no vision of their personal style of leadership or how their style can contribute to the school.
Communication

As measured by oral communication while answering questions, as well as writing sample (Interview Packet).

Excellent

Candidate demonstrates a high degree of communication skills in both oral interview and writing sample. Candidate demonstrates the ability to express views/thoughts effectively to the Interview Committee.
Good

Candidate demonstrates an average degree of communication skills in both oral interview and writing sample. Candidate demonstrates the ability to mostly express views/thoughts in an effective manner to the Interview Committee.
Fair

Candidate demonstrates a fair degree of communication skills in both oral interview and writing sample. Candidate demonstrates the ability to somewhat express views/thoughts effectively to the Interview Committee.
Poor

Candidate demonstrates a low degree of communication skills in both oral interview and writing sample. Candidate demonstrates the ability to express views/thoughts with minimum effectiveness to the Interview Committee.
Response to Interview Questions

Measured by the content of the candidate's answers to interview questions.

Excellent

Candidate demonstrates a strong knowledge base required of school leaders. Addresses all stake-holder groups throughout interview. Answers questions in a complete manner, that is logical and rooted in current educational practice.
Good

Candidate demonstrates a working knowledge base required of school leaders. Addresses most or all stake-holder groups throughout interview. Answers most questions in a complete manner that is easy to follow and references current educational practice.
Fair

Candidate demonstrates a minimal knowledge base required of school leaders. Addresses some stake-holder groups throughout interview. Answers some questions in a complete manner that may or may not be easy to follow and minimally references current educational practice.
Poor

Candidate demonstrates little or no knowledge base required of school leaders. Addresses few to no stake-holder groups throughout interview. Answers few, if any, questions in a complete manner that is easy to follow and does not reference current educational practice.
