Rough Draft Rubric
	Poor 1 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Rough Draft	Poor There is no rough draft or it is not completely finished.	Good The rough draft is finished, but not all of the information is complete or checked by another student/teacher.	Excellent The rough draft is complete and in order. It has been checked by a student and teacher.
Grammar and Mechanics	Poor There are several misspellings and grammar errors within the report. Sentences are not formed correctly.	Good There are few misspellings and grammar errors within the report. Sentences are formed correctly.	Excellent There are no misspellings or grammar errors within the report. Sentences are well written.
Content	Poor The information in the essay does not relate to the topic. The student is off topic in many places. The reader is left wondering: What was the topic is about, and did the student actually understand it?	Good The information in the essay is relevant, it relates to the topic. The reader can understand the topic from the essay.	Excellent The content shows detailed knowledge of the topic. The reader understood the information and learned something new from the essay.
Followed Directions	Poor The student showed little effort following the directions.	Good The essay shows a reasonable amount of effort to follow directions.	Excellent The student went beyond the usual. The report shows a good amount of information. The essay reveals a great amount of effort and originality.
