Contour Hands
Draw, in contour, with pencil, your initials (three required) in sign language. Consider the interior and exterior lines, add values on the hands with pencil. In the back ground, of all three images, include a personal line/mark to create a value scale that moves through all three backgrounds.

Given masking tape, students will form it in the shape of a cross and create a tape resist for the watercolor.

Students will draw a Christmas stocking for a pet with patterns. Students will create patterns on stocking and popping out they will add a pet and other decorative items like tiny trees candy, or small presents. Everything is outlined and colored with oil pastels.

Snowmen-1st grade
Students color snowmen and snow with a white oil pastel on white paper. It's hard to see, but everything must be colored in with a solid layer of white oil pastel. Then details are added with the other colors. Finally, the whole picture is painted with blue watercolors and the white snow and snowmen magically appear.

Memorizing and Reciting Poetry
Spring Poetry Project #1: Select a poem of 10 lines or more from the poetry book and memorize it. You must recite the whole poem; you are not allowed to recite just the first 10 lines of a poem. You will recite it to the class on Monday, May 9, 2016. You must inform Mr. Ulaj of the poem you chose by the end of today's class, May 3, 2016.
