Egg Survival	Excellent Egg remains in project and has no cracks.	Good Egg remains in the project and egg is has some cracks in the shell but nothing is leaking out.	Average Egg might have come out of the project AND/OR the egg is leaking but not totally broken.	Poor Egg came totally out of the project OR the egg is severely broken to total smashed.
Participation	Excellent Student was on-task and focused during entire activity. Regularly contributed to group and engaged during performance.	Good Student mostly on task, makes contributions, and is engaged during performance.	Average Student sometimes distracted but makes contributions and is engaged in performance.	Poor Student distracted much of the time and mildly engaged in performance.
Structure	Excellent Shows high level of creativity. Great care was taken during the construction process. Students were neat, following plans and testing their contraptions. They were also on task and following directions.	Good Shows some creativity. Construction was careful and accurate for the most part, but could have been more refined and more attractive. They also tested their contraptions.	Average Construction did not follow plans, the student was not organized and neat in their designs. They tested the design.	Poor Did not exhibit any type of effort. Construction appears careless and disorganized. Did not follow their plan at all. Did not test the design
Design Preparation	Excellent Design sketches and paragraph response from lab report are complete, clear, and neat and go far beyond expectations. Shows great evidence of attempts to make drawings BEFORE construction.	Good Design sketches and paragraph response from lab report are complete, clear, and neat.
