6th Arts of Mexico/Huichol God's Eyes 
The students learned about the tradition of the Hichol God's Eyes. The eyes are used so that God may see into the world and give protection to those in need.

Is poor and falls apart easily. No tassels or loop.
Fair

Pieces easily fall off after being touched or pulled on slightly. No loop but tassels are tried.
Good

All pieces stay on with exception of one area which seems testable. Tassels fit nicely with little slipping. Loop is made for hanging.
Excellent

All the pieces stay on and there are no areas where the pieces are likely to fall off due to pulling and being touched. Tassels are tight and there is no slipping. Loop is strong and ready to hang up God's Eye.
Design

Looks thrown together and little effort put into design.

Student took some time to work on design. One or two colors of yarn used.
Good

Design looks great as it evolved while adding yarn pieces of 3 different color.
Excellent

Design is enhanced with the use of 4 or more different colors of yarn. Tassel yarn color was added to enhance the center of the eye. Student further on unique creativity by adding own personal uniqueness to design.

Yarn is loose and falling off of sticks.

Yarn is loose but technique is used so that yarn remains on sticks.

The yarn is wound using the technique taught so that even though there are some loose areas, the majority of the Eye is well crafted and pleasing to look upon. Tassels are uniformed.
Excellent

Student has mastered technique and is able to teach others with high skill level. Students own work is beautiful with even weaving of yarn technique and making of tassels.

Colors used do go together. The student gave no thought in deciding on patterning of color.
Fair

The student attempted to pattern some colors together but needed help from teacher.
Good

The student picked colors of his/her own choice, and created a contrast of patterns which are pleasing to the eye. The color of the tassels enhanced the eye colors.
Excellent

The student picked colors of his/her own choice and created a contrasting pattern and widths of colors which made the center of the eye the focal point. The tassels perfectly added to the emphasis of the eye.
