Use of colored pencils

BEGINNING

Student used colored pencils in a very elementary way.
DEVELOPING

Colored pencil use includes some evidence of blending and shading.

Colored pencils are blended and shaded for accurate colors and coverage of paper.
ACCOMPLISHED

Smooth shading has been used for a good portion of the project. Colors are well thought out.
MASTERED

Colored pencil techniques indicate realistic detail. Smooth shading has created depth and volume. Student understands colors to an advanced level.

Student did not use a grid.

Students grid was not correct

Student drew a grid but it was dark or they did not erase it in the background and there is much of it left.

Grid was draw and erased and there is very little visual remainder.

If I had not seen the student draw a grid I would not be aware that they had used one. There is absolutely no visual reference to it.
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS

BEGINNING

Project does not follow directions.
DEVELOPING

Student turned in an assignment which indicated they did not pay attention to instructions.
PROFICIENT

Project is an object which was enlarged.
ACCOMPLISHED

Project is an object which was enlarged proportionally. There is some background.
MASTERED

Final project is enlarged proportionally and the student has created a real or imaginary background in which the object fits into.
NEATNESS

BEGINNING

Project and desk are a disaster daily.
DEVELOPING

Project is very messy however they cleaned up the desk.
PROFICIENT

Project is mostly neat with few stray marks. Desk could be cleaner but usually looks good at the end of class.
ACCOMPLISHED

Project is very neat but the student leaves desk messy from time to time.
MASTERED

Student leaves their desk cleaner than it was when they arrived. The finished project was meticulously executed.
