13 Colonies Storybook 13 Colonies Recruitment Poster This is a rubric for a project where student(s) will create a storybook about one region of the original British colonies. The book needs to tell, in story form, about the development of the colonies in the selected region. It needs to include political, economic, and social characteristics and must be illustrated. Historical Knowledge x2	Poor The storybook is lacking in elements required. It is historically inaccurate.	Fair Does not have all of the relevant information for the region. Some facts are inaccurate. There is not enough information presented and won't interest many readers.	Good Storybook includes accurate historical information; however, it is very general and lacks detail. It may be interesting enough to readers.	Exceeds The storybook includes all historical information relevant to the topic. The storybook includes detailed facts about their region. It's very interesting to read.
Work quality/effort	Poor Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.	Fair Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.	Good The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this storybook	Exceeds The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by this group/individual.
Creativity	Poor Not good use of space in storybook. Messy and lacks color.	Fair Not very appealing. Limited use of creative writing and illustrations. Not a lot of color or design. .	Good Appealing story and illustrations. Shows the student spent time creating an interesting storybook.	Exceeds Eye catching storybook. Writing is creative and easy to read. Illustrations are highly appealing and relevant.
