Axis of Symmetry Symmetry/Reflections Project Students will: 1) create a symmetrical shape by folding, drawing, and cutting, 2) attach their pictures to a poster, 3) construct a correct axis of symmetry in each and label it, 4)write a complete sentence to tell what shape they made., 5)add any detail that is needed. Design / Creativity	Poor No thought to final outcome. or Many tries need to make a symmetrical shape. or Shape is not Symmetrical.	Fair Student made good effort to create a symmetrical figure. or A few tries were needed to make a symmetrical shape.	Good The student started with a shape in mind and was able to draw in order to create that shape.	Excellent Creative/unique idea for a shape. and Student demonstrates full comprehension of what Symmetry looks like.
Constructed Lines of Symmetry	Poor No Axis of Symmetry were added or all were incorrect.	Fair Axis of Symmetry only drawn correctly in one figure. or Axis of Symmetry was only labeled in one shape. or Axis of Symmetry label is not spelled correctly	Good Shape has a correct axis of Symmetry, it is dark, and includes a label spelled correctly.	Excellent Shape has a correct axis of Symmetry, it is dark, and includes a label spelled correctly. and Student labeled more than one Axis of Symmetry IF there is one present.
