Character Analysis Journal Shakespeare Character Journal Students will receive a character to follow. They will journal from that character's point of view. Each entry should be 1 paragraph long. Topic 100 %	Outstanding The writing focused on the story and what the character may be thinking or feeling.	Proficent The writing did not seem to focus on the story or what the character might be thinking.	Poor The writing had nothing to do with the story or what happened to the character.
Characterization 100 %	Outstanding The writing in the journal makes it obvious which character was chosen for the assignment.	Proficent The writing might be able to apply to the character but there is nothing shows that the character chosen is obvious.	Poor Could not tell the character's POV that was being written about.
Conventions 100 %	Outstanding Length was met. Writing had little to no spelling, grammar, punctuation errors and was neatly done.	Proficent Writing had some spelling, grammar, and/or punctuation errors or was not neatly done.	Poor Writing had frequent (5 or more) spelling, grammar,puand/or punctuation errors or was not neatly done.
