Student shows very little ability to describe the picture. Student only speaks about the animals collectively. Student cannot describe what the animals are going to do.

Student is able to tell a small portion of the story line. Student can speak specifically about two of the animals. Most of the sentences address the animals collectively.

Student can clearly tell the story with some errors. Student can speak specifically about most of the animals. Student addresses the animals collectively and individually.

Student can clearly and articulately tell the story line. Student addresses almost all of the animals individually and collectively.

Student demonstrates numerous and pervasive vocabulary and grammar errors that keep listener from understanding the story. Student cannot use present tense or future tense correctly. Student cannot conjugate verbs correctly.

Numerous grammatical errors exist that make it difficult for listener to understand story. Student uses some present tense correctly and uses minimal future tense.

Some grammatical errors exist, but they do not prevent listener from understanding. Student uses some present tense and future tense correctly. Student may use piensa, quiere, or le gust.

Very few errors in grammar and vocabulary exist. Student is able to use future and present tense correctly and switches easily from one to the other. Student uses piensa, quiere, le gusta effortlessly.
