Cartoon Images	Poor The images are poor and the joke does not make sense or pertain to relevant issues.	Fair The images and joke are vague for the reader to understand.	Good Images represent political ideas and participants proficiently. The joke is understood.	Perfect Images represent political ideas and participants exceptionally well. The joke is clearly understood and relevant to political climate.
Neatness / Effort	Poor The cartoon is distractingly messy or very poorly designed. It is not attractive.	Fair The cartoon is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy.	Good The cartoon is attractive in terms of layout and neatness.	Perfect The cartoon is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness.
Spelling and Grammar	Poor There are many mistakes and they interfere with understanding the thought process.	Fair There are many mistakes but the reader can still understand the message.	Good There is a pattern of mistakes. The student is proficient but there is room for improvement.	Perfect There is only 1-2 errors. There is not pattern to the mistakes. There is clear evidence of mastery.
