Historical Knowledge	Good Speeches showed accurate and sophisticated understanding of the historical circumstances and events. Understanding goes beyond knowledge of the facts, and explores motivations and causes.	Fair Speeches showed evidence of accurate knowledge of the historical events and circumstances.	Poor Speeches showed some basic knowledge of historical facts and circumstances.	Unacceptable Speeches show no evidence of relevant historical knowledge.
Creative	Good Performances incorporated arguments based on textual evidence and inference. Creativity and originality is apparent.	Fair Performances incorporated some aspects and understanding of arguments based on textual evidence and inference. Creativity and originality is somewhat apparent.	Poor Performances were not creative or original. They made minimal use of the text to support their arguments.	Unacceptable Performance does not incorporate the text to support the argument.
Equal Participation	Good The students in the group participated equally and had an equal impact on the final product.
